He has founded four technology businesses since 1995, including Verisim, a VC-backed simulation software company that built a strong international blue chip client base, won several innovation awards, and was a regional finalist for E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year 2004. |Elliot Clark, CEO
Elliot is the chairman and CEO of SharedXpertise Media, LLC, which he founded in 2006. He oversees company management and the publication of HRO Today and HRO Today Global, and the related global HRO Today conference series. Elliot writes a column for each magazine issue with commentary on newsworthy events and speaks at events internationally on related topics. Elliot has had a long and distinguished career in the human resources services and technology industry. Prior to SharedXpertise, he was the chief operating officer of Kenexa Corporation (Nasdaq KNXA), a leading provider of HR software and services. He worked at Kenexa from 1991 until 2006, and was instrumental in growing the company from 12 to 1,200 employees. He oversaw corporate operations and directly managed the recruitment process outsourcing division. He led the Kenexa team to be named the top provider in RPO by multiple industry analysts and publications. As a key member of the executive team, he was deeply involved in 15 acquisitions, three private equity financings, and an IPO. He served on the board of directors from 1997 until 2006. Elliot also had a distinguished career in the executive search industry, completing numerous senior executive assignments in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, and was active in the leadership of the largest pharmaceutical affinity association in the world, the Drug Information Association, serving on the steering committee of North America from 1994 to 1997. Elliot is a graduate of the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce of the University of Pennsylvania, earning a B.S. Economics where he majored in Human Resources. He also served on the national board of directors of the Wharton Alumni Association from 1997 to 1998. Elliot is currently the chairman emeritus of the board of directors of the Ehlers Danlos Foundation, a member of the board of trustees of the Michener Art Museum, a member of the board of trustees of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and a senior fellow at Center for Human Resource Studies at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Joanne Marshall was appointed as Director of Human Resources and OD at the University of Bradford in December 2013. She oversees the University’s Human Resources, Organisational Development and Health, Safety and Wellbeing Services and is passionate about people. Her aim is to provide first class, supportive and innovative professional leadership, expertise and services to help drive delivery of the University’s mission, objectives and business plan. Joanne has worked in Human Resources within both the private and public sectors, for over 18 years and is originally from a nursing background, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to support Bradford in its transformation agenda. In 2009, Joanne was awarded NHS HR Director of the year Award for role model/contribution to the profession. Previously the Director of Organisational Culture Development at NHS England, she developed and lead on a number of national OD programmes aimed at creating and supporting a new culture in order to sustain the achievement of the national priorities and objectives of NHS England. Prior to this she was the Executive Director of Workforce & OD Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust where her portfolio included, Strategic HR, Organisational Development, Learning & Development, Communications & Engagement and Corporate Services. Joanne also led the equality & diversity agenda as both Director of Human Resources & OD at Stockport, Tameside and Glossop and Director of Workforce & OD at Lancashire Care FT. During her time at Lancashire Care, the Trust became a Beacon site as an Equality & Diversity partner in the NHS and won an award for its work on E&D in 2012. In May 2015 the University HR Team won the 2015 National UHR (University’s Human Resources) Award for ‘Exceptional HR’ and the service is also a finalist in the 2015 CIPD HR Team of the Year (Public Sector) – the results of which will be known in September 2015. She is also currently the Vice president for HPMA (Healthcare People Management Association), a school governor and the Director of a local drama group for children aged 8 – 18. Joanne is married and lives on a working farm with her husband and two children.

Peter Reilly is an Associate of the Edinburgh Napier Institute for Leadership and Management Practice, having been Director of Research and Consultancy at the Institute for Employment Studies for ten years. He joined IES in 1995 after a 16 year career with Shell where he held various HR posts in the UK and abroad covering both generalist and specialist roles, including ones in career management. He is the author of several books and many articles on HR management. Peter has a first degree in politics and history from Cambridge University and a Masters from University of Kent in politics and government.

|Charles A. Scherbaum, PhD, Chief Analytics Officer
Dr. Charles A. Scherbaum is an expert in analytics, talent assessment, performance management, and employee research. He is an associate professor of psychology at Baruch College, City University of New York. Charles leads the research, analytics and benchmarking for Rideau’s Vistance Analytics & Prescriptive Learning solution and uses statistical and analytical data to gain insights into the social and fiscal benefits of a carefully executed recognition strategy. A part of the Rideau Recognition Solutions team since 2007, Charles consults with Rideau and its clients on analytics and workforce metrics. His specialized expertise draws from his vast background and research in human capital. Charles received his Ph.D. in industrial and organizational psychology from Ohio University.

Julie Sharp joined Bank of Ireland as Head of Group Human Resources on 14 June 2010. Julie is Australian and brings diverse HR experience to the Group, gained in several different companies including ING where she more recently worked. Julie held a number of senior HR positions with ING, ranging from Regional HR Director, Australia, to Regional Head of HR & Board Member, Hong Kong, ING Asia Pacific, where she was responsible for 17,000 employees, covering Investment Management, Insurance and Real Estate. After 10 years working with ING, Julie moved to Ireland with her family where she has been engaged in consulting assignments over the past year. Prior to IMG, Julie was the HR Director for Citibank Australia and Arthur Anderson. Julie holds an MBA in International Business Management from Charles Stuart University, having previously graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Psychology.

Mark Smith recently joined Amazon as its Recruitment Manager for the EMEA region. Previously, he was Head of EMEA Recruitment at Caterpillar, where he led the company’s talent acquisition team and created a new vision of the program—one that is an important part of the business strategy. He helped with the implementation of a new applicant tracking system that has made the hiring process more effective and streamlined, while focusing the team on the essential qualities of customer service.
|Yvette Stortz, VP of HR, Northern Europe
Yvette is currently the HR Leader for Northern Europe at Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation. With revenues of €24.7 billion in FY2016, Schneider Electric’s 144,000+ employees serve customers in over 100 countries, helping them to manage their energy and processes in ways that are safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable. She has been with the organization for the past 16 years and most recently lead the Global Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding activities for the organization. Yvette transformed the talent acquisition function at Schneider Electric and has positioned the organization as an Employer of Choice, most recently being named by LinkedIn as one of the “Top 25 Companies Where the World Wants to Work.” Yvette is the recipient of the “HRO Today 2016 Talent Acquisition Leader of the Year” award in the for-profit category and her Twitter account was named among the “Top 7 Twitter Accounts Every Recruiter Should Start Following in 2017.” Originally from Germany, she has lived and worked in the United States, France and Denmark.
Head of Guide Dogs
As head of people at Guide Dogs, Jo Sullivan is heavily involved with not only talent acquisition, but ensuring that the 1,400 employees and 13,000 volunteers are diverse, engaged, and successful. She operates various people functions, including human resources, volunteering, and business partnering, and she has created a single, innovative people strategy that the company utilises. This strategy allows the organisation to shift from being primarily service delivery focused to a people- and customer-centric service. Under Sullivan’s leadership, Guide Dogs introduced many new initiatives, including a pay progression programme, flexible benefits operation, and a new self-service HR system. These efforts led to the reduction in caseloads, which then allowed the organisation to have time to empower managers through training, as the people-related services were restructured and brought together. Diversity and inclusion is of the utmost importance to Sullivan. She led the charge in improving the retention of employees with disabilities via diversity workshops and localised diversity action plans. The number of blind/partially-sighted employees at the company has increased by 22 percent in 12 months and 10 percent of new recruits last year were from a black and minority ethnicity background. She also increased staff engagement results from 43 percent overall engagement in 2013 to 54 percent in 2015.
|Nigel Sullivan, Chief People Officer
Nigel has led the transformation of the HR function which includes all aspects of the function such as payroll, systems, operations, recruitment, talent, OD, communications, engagement – including all training and development. Nigel led the way in creating a harmonised digital environment giving colleagues and managers direct access to people services and reducing the cost of HR by 40% while increasing the function’s capability and reach. He also has responsibility for property, facilities, health & safety and insurance.

Charlotte has experience in various industries including professional services, investment, construction and technology. Charlotte is responsible for implementing all HR strategies, including building a commercially focused HR team, developing and implementing the strategic people agenda across multiple locations and influencing senior stakeholders. She is also responsible for the full range of HR functions, including learning and development, resourcing, employee relations, reward, global mobility, organisation design and change management. Charlotte earned her degree at Oxford Brookes and regularly speaks at events and forums on women in business, global mobility and diversity.

I was an HR school drop out in the early nineties and very deliberately chose a career in commercial and operational management roles through which I arrived at a Texan freight forwarding organization. The years of line management gave me a different perspective on HR and organizational effectiveness, aligning HR to company and end-user objectives in a pragmatic manner. Years later I was HR director for EMEA for the same company, and stayed true to my can-do and no-nonsense approach to organizational challenges. After 11 years with this company, now CEVA logistics, I moved to TomTom. Realizing that my entire career was with one company, I agreed to a much lower position as HR manager for their customer care unit. When a year on the job, I was promoted to be a member of the consumer management board. I’ve been heading the global HR team since early 2014 and we have embarked on a change path with a clear strategy, relentless ambition and pragmatism.

Darren is Head of HR Planning and Info Systems UK at Leonardo MW Ltd, a leading European Defense Company and the UK element of the wider Leonardo Group. Responsible for governance of all HR Outsource provision in the UK, he has led the contract negotiations with numerous suppliers, and recently completed the transition of the full HR and Payroll service to a new provider, and widened the scope to provide payroll services for the entire Leonardo UK population. Outside of work Darren is a District Manager for St John Ambulance, the UK’s leading First Aid Charity, and is responsible for 1,500 volunteers delivering first aid and ambulance cover at events across Essex.

Having completed his Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Political Science, Bülent Bayram started his career in 1998 at Danone as Human Resources Specialist. Between 2000-2004 he pursued his career respectively as Human Resources Officer, Human Resources Projects Manager and Human Resources Manager at Jacob’s Bakery Ltd. İn the UK. Meanwhile, he completed his Core Management Certificate Degree at The Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) at Liverpool Community College. Having decided to pursue his career in France, Bayram worked as a Senior Process Designer at Groupe Danone Headquarters between 2004 and 2006. Bayram worked at The Dannon Company, USA respectively as Total Rewards & HR Technology and Shared Services Director, Talent Acquisition Director and Project Steering Committee Member between 2007-2011. Bayram moved back to Turkey in 2011 and started working for Danone Baby Nutrition as a Human Resources Director. In February 2012, he moved to Vodafone Turkey as Capability Director managing Talent, Learning Development and Resourcing functions. Prior to this role Mr. Brown was VP, Global Solutions with a focus on ensuring the design, implementation and continuous improvement (CI) of best-practice Talent Acquisition solutions on a global basis. He was also responsible for Futurestep’s Talent Acquisition Advisory Consulting team, which provides clients with diagnostic, benchmarking and consulting services. During this time Jonathan designed and implemented a number of global and regional RPO solutions, as well as rolled out the CI initiative globally. Mr. Brown’s first role with Futurestep in 2011, was EMEA RPO Operations Director where he was responsible for operational performance in key Futurestep EMEA clients.

Kay Cooper is Vice President, Key Accounts for EMEA and is part of the EMEA leadership team. Kay brings with her over eighteen years’ experience, having lead the International RPO Business Division for Kenexa, overseeing all facets of the EMEA operation including Business Development, Operations, Client Services and Implementation. Prior to joining Kenexa, Kay held a number of leadership positions in AMS – her final position being Director of their Interim (Staff Augmentation) business. Kay also architected and managed the RPO solutions for some of AMS’s most complex Global Multinational clients delivering savings to her customers in excess of $20 million per annum. With nearly two decades of recruiting experience, Kay has spent the majority of her career with Investment Banking and Financial Services institutions. Eamonn is a senior member of the Bank of Ireland Group Human Resources Team with responsibility for building the capability the organisation needs to meet its strategic objectives. He led the design and implementation of the Banks Learningzone service that is delivered in partnership with Accenture Learning. He is a career banker with management experience in Retail Banking, Marketing, Learning and Human Resources. Previous HR leadership roles include Employee Engagement, Diversity, Executive Education, Performance Management, Leadership Development and Head of Training. Eamonn is a Director of the Institute of Bankers in Ireland and a member of its Executive Committee, Council and also Chair of the Education Committee. He holds an MBA from University College Dublin and is a Fellow of the Institute of Banking in Ireland. He has extensive experience as a conference speaker at national and international level specialising in adult learning, training, capability development and learning innovation. He is from Dublin, is married with two teenage children. His interests include swimming, keep fit, cycling and music and he performs regularly with the RTE Philharmonic Choir at the National Concert Hall in Dublin and on live broadcasts on RTE Lyric FM. Leatham is currently programme director of Orbis, a strategic shared service partnership between East Sussex and Surrey County Councils. Leatham leads on the integration of all support services which is the biggest operation in public. Prior to this role, Leatham was assistant director: HR for East Sussex County Council, leading the delivery of HR to over 15,000 employees.Leatham began his career in the hospitality sector, before moving into the National Health Service and, for the past 25 years, into local government. Initially Leatham managed the Schools Meals Service for Kent County Council and then for East Sussex County Council before moving into business change and transformation.He is a successful team and individual coach and a master practitioner of NLP. Leatham introduced the award winning mediation service into the Council in 2009. Leatham is an accredited mediator trained by Globis and CEDR. Leatham is a National Policy Board Member of the Public Service People Management Association’s (PPMA) and is the national lead for talent development. Leatham has been responsible for creating and implementing the PPMA’s award winning HR Rising Star and Public Sector Apprentice of the Year talent programmes.
|Neil Griffiths, Global Practice Leader – Talent Communications & Employer Brand

Neil Griffiths is Global Practice Leader for Futurestep’s Talent Communications and Employer Brand practice. In this role, he is responsible for working with clients to enhance their reputation as an employer and create inspiring communications across the employee lifecycle. In addition, he works with organisations to develop, attract and manage talent communities in an engaging and effective way. With over 15 years’ experience in the communications industry, Neil was formerly the global Creative Director at Alexander Mann Solutions, (AMS). It was here that he founded the resourcing communications business, a team that managed all employer branding, sourcing and recruitment innovation across both direct and RPO clients. In addition he created strategies and ideas for briefs as varied as social media engagement through to graduate and campus strategies. Prior to AMS, Neil spent 10 years at the Bernard Hodes Group – a global integrated talent solutions group and a subsidiary of DAS/Omnicom – latterly as Regional Creative Director and a member of the leadership team. He was a founding member of the ‘Solutions Consultancy’, one of the first industry practices dedicated to employer branding and was a creative consultant on global projects for clients such as Philips, Nokia and E.ON Energy. Neil started out his career in consumer advertising, and spent time as a creative in noted agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, TBWA and Grey Worldwide and has since been responsible for numerous high-profile and award-winning public and private sector campaigns in the recruitment industry, and a judge at various business awards. Neil holds a Higher National Diploma from the University College Falmouth in Advertising, and a National Diploma from John Moores University Liverpool. He has also completed a Leadership programme in communications at D&AD.

She initially trained as a lawyer before joining Michael Page in 2001 where she developed the Legal recruitment brand in Manchester.Suzannah successfully grew the market and exceeded all targets, billing over £1million in revenue. To build on her recruitment skills she was relocated to London by the business and moved into executive search where she headhunted and worked strategically with partners in law firms and accountancy firms. Suzannah also took on the exciting challenge of project managing Chinese New Year in Trafalgar Square. This was a three-year consultancy programme which enabled her to hone her change and project management skills delivering the event within budget year on year, increasing footfall by 100% to 500,000 and raising over £1 million in corporate sponsorship and funding. Drawing on her experience from working at Michael Page and boutique search companies she joined the Civil Service Resourcing team as Talent Acquisition Team Leader in 2015 – and over the last 12 months has grown and developed the in-house executive search team which successfully delivers executive search campaigns across all ministerial departments. Outside of work Suzannah is proactive in the voluntary sector; she is active in the community and also serves as a NED on a housing association.

Simon Mason, vice president business development Graebel for the EMEA region, is a relocation industry veteran with more than a decade of hands’ on experience. Prior to joining Graebel, he led a UK firm of 100-plus FTE employees at board level and managed a multi-million pound budget. Charles A. Scherbaum is an expert in analytics, talent assessment, performance management, and employee research. Nigel is Human Resources Director for TalkTalk, a position he has held since 2010. He reports to the Chief Executive and is a member of the Executive Committee. Nigel led the transformation of the HR function which includes all aspects of the function such as payroll, systems, operations, recruitment, talent, OD, communications, engagement – including all training and development across the Group. HR have led the way in creating a harmonised digital environment giving colleagues and managers direct access to people services and reducing the cost of HR by 40% while increasing the function’s capability and reach. He also has responsibility for property, facilities, health & safety and insurance. Since 2012 Nigel has been a Non Executive Director on the board of Royal United Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Bath. He has subsequently held senior HR positions at Nortel Networks, Marconi and the logistics group Wincanton plc.
